My name is Steven Hemphill and I have been a client of AKFP for just over 20 years now.

Initially, I went to AKFP for a bit of tax advice. I was freelancing at the time so wasn’t submitting PAYE. That evolved to some advice in terms of income insurance and more recently, quite a lot of advice on pension and savings.

Most recently, it’s actually been a bit of advice with my wife’s pension, Chantelle. Also, a little bit of advice as we’re selling our house at the minute. A little bit of advice in terms of how much savings we draw down to put into our mortgage going forward.

The most notable thing is the annual reviews. They come around quite quickly. Quite often you think there’s not much need and not a lot has changed in a year. Roger handles them in a manner, it’s more like a chat with your friend, to be perfectly honest, which works very well. It’s quite surprising some of the things that do come out in terms of, you know, looking forward to future planning and some of the advice that we get garnered back from that. We’re quite risk-averse. Often, these discussions with Roger give us a little bit of confidence on where to go forward.

Three words I would use to describe Roger. Firstly, very professional, quite affable. I think him being of a similar age and myself, kids of a similar age, I find him very easy to relate to.

If I didn’t have Roger and AKFP, I guess we would have less savings. We would probably be in a less assured state. I’m thinking about that one if something were ever to happen to me. It’s that assurance that AKFP can step in and keep the family right in terms of our finances.

Would I recommend AKFP and Roger to anybody else? Absolutely! In fact, the proof in the pudding there is I have done in the past to friends and family.
