My name is Gordon Deans, I’ve been a client of AKFP since 1996.

Over that time, Roger has helped me with lots of things. It’s been financial planning, regarding retirement that has been the most recent one. Financial planning regarding investments, financial planning, regarding my children.

The most beneficial thing about working with Roger I think is I trust him. I trust their decision-making. I must confess, I’m not very good at financial things myself, and I’ve trusted him over the years, his advice has proven to be really beneficial and well worked out. It’s really worked out to my advantage. He works for me, he makes my money work for me. Having confidence in him is probably the most beneficial thing I’ve got over the last few years. That’s meant that I have been able to retire. I have been able to enjoy life and holidays and lots of other things.

He’s created a rather large pension pot for me and that meant that though I retired from one job a number of years ago, I took up another job and the pension plan in that job was not as good. And yet, because of his investment advice, it’s really worked out for me, in fact, I was able to retire at an age that frankly, not many of my colleagues had been able to retire at.

I would say Roger was, first of all, trustworthy, reliable and approachable.

I tend to work along with Roger, Joanne and James. Now Joanne is very helpful, I find her whenever my tax returns are due, she’s always right on the nose. She gives me what I need to send, what I need to do, the times I need to send them, everything. She does that all for me. If there are any queries, she comes back to me, if there’s anything else that she needs for clarification, she always contacts me regarding it. Again, she’s approachable, she’s reliable, and again, she’s trustworthy.

James, I find very helpful as well. He seems to be very good with all sorts of technical things as he produces all these charts and graphs and various other things about how my financial investments are doing. Which puts it (for somebody like myself, who likes things in a pictorial form) it really does help me.

Categorically I would recommend Roger and AKFP to other people. My brother needed some financial advice very recently, and the first thing I said was, look, you need to contact these people. And they came up trumps with him as well. I would recommend them to anybody.
