How much time do you have in jellybeans?

We recently came across a great video, please see below, which really makes you stop and think. It graphically illustrates what your life would look like if it were laid out in colourful jelly beans. Just imagine each jelly bean as a day of your life!

It starts with 28,835 beans – one for each day that every person will live on average; for some it will be more, others less.

Have you ever really considered how your days are spent? It’s quite striking when you see them portrayed in a mound of sweets! So take a moment to think about what you’re doing with your life and how you’re spending it.

1 single bean represents the very first day of your life.

By the time you’ve had 5,475 days, you’ll have reached the age of 15, the cusp of adulthood.

8,477 days are spent sleeping;

1,635 preparing or eating food;

3,202 working, hopefully at something satisfying;

1099 commuting;

2,676 watching TV;

671 bathing or grooming;

720 on community, religious or civic activities;

564 looking after relatives and 1,576 on household chores, looking after pets and shopping.

So what will you do with the time left? That’s the big question. Will you spend it laughing, swimming, hiking, texting friends, playing the guitar, checking social media? How much will you waste fretting and worrying?

And if you had just one day left, how would you spend that?
